Beautifully restored 19th Century Watermill with fishing lake, sleeps 6

Set in 8 acres of private & peaceful woodlands with its own fishing lake (carp upto 25lb & trout great for the bar-b-q). The mill has been tastefully renovated to the highest standard.
The nearest village of Couesmes Vauces is only 1km away it has a bar, shop and garage. The award winning village of St Fraimbault is 3.5 kms away, it is famous for its fantastic floral displays. The major ports & airport are 1.5 hrs away, also Bayeaux, Normandy Beaches, Le Mans & the historic Mont St Michel are within easy reach. You could just enjoy bird watching, walking or cycling. Your children might enjoy collecting there own eggs and feeding the donkey, goat and sheep that live here.
Accommodation: Ground floor – large fully equipped kitchen set amongst the old mill workings. 1st floor – large living area with wood burning fire, TV for DVDs and videos only. 2nd floor – 3 bedrooms and bathroom. The mill stairs are original so are quite steep therefore maybe unsuitable for the elderly and toddlers.

Why travel further when you can enjoy our traditional stone house in an unspoilt Anjou village? “Le Coin” gives easy access to the chaux and vineyards of the Loire Valley with activities including golf and horse riding, while the surrounding forests and lanes are ideal for walking and cycling. The house’s ground floor has a large living room, well-equipped kitchen, modern bathroom and separate WC; the first floor has a spacious family room, (4 single beds) and two double rooms. Outside you can either use the furnished patio or just relax in the attractive garden with large (10m x 5m) pool, sun loungers, BBQ and garden dining furniture.

The Chau offers excellent self-catering accommodation with a wide range of facilities and its ideally situated for exploring the many wonderful delights of the Loire Valley. The Chau, formerly the home of a wine-maker, is set in mature and extensive grounds with secure walled courtyards. The original building was destroyed during the Vendeen war of 1793 and the present property was re-built in 1830. We are situated on the edge of the small wine producing village of Concourson-sur-Layon, known for its Anjou and Coteaux de Layon wines, some 15 miles from the enchanting town of Saumur and just 3 miles from the market town of Doua Fontaine. Concourson boasts a reasonably priced restaurant/bar, a boulangerie within walking distance, as well as many wine producers Vigerons, offering free visits and tastings. The chateau can sleep up to 13 guests, the Coach House sleeps 10 and the farm cottage sleeps 5. One can rent the whole site or the properties can be rented individually. On-site facilities for the free and exclusive use of guests include an impressive 12 x 6m (40 x 20) floodlit swimming pool, set within a secure walled garden and with a large terrace and childrens’ paddling pool, games room with pool table, table tennis, boules and badminton. Young children are more than welcome and are well catered for with many toys, games and bicycles.

Pretty upstairs bedrooms and shower/w.c. Bed linen provided. Central heating for all year availability. There is a terrace and garden. The picturebook medieval village has cafes, restaurants, art galleries and shops. Sandy beaches are an hour away and there is much to explore. Sorry but no pets or smoking in the cottage and it is not suitable for toddlers.

For the larger party (up to 19) our separate cottage Les Lavandes (property ref: CN170310), overlooking the courtyard can also be rented. Le Logis is extremely spacious and has a fully fitted kitchen, separate dining room, living room, further sitting room, utility room, family bathroom, 5 bedrooms (3 of which have en-suite facilities), plus garden furniture and barbecue.
